Now that Halloween has passed, we are getting straight into the Christmas spirit! Yes, for some it’s still too early but Enterprise Travel’s favourite season is finally here.
Though it has been said that the Germans do Christmas markets best, we think the Brits know how to celebrate the festive season! Christmas markets and festivities in the north of England have a certain feel to them – maybe it’s the crisp air – and we cannot wait to visit them all.
Here are all of our upcoming Christmas excursions:
Harrogate Christmas Market
Harrogate’s popular Christmas Market returns this November. The market will start from Thursday the 15th and last through Sunday the 18th of November. Admission for visitors is free and in this year’s market more than 200 stalls are expected to join.
In the market, you will be able to find anything from Yorkshire cheeses to Christmas decorations and gifts. The market takes place in Harrogate’s festive town centre that is surrounded with cafes, restaurants and more shops.

York St Nicholas Fair
Let’s be honest, York is a picture-perfect town and especially stunning at Christmas. The Christmas decorations and lights make everything seem magical!
Don’t miss the chance to explore the iconic St Nicholas Fair. York’s festive market is on from the 15th of November to the 23rd of December. Stroll along the medieval streets with a cup of mulled wine, soak up the festive atmosphere and discover Yorkshire produce from all the locals.

Christmas experience at Castle Howard
Visiting Castle Howard at Christmas is once in a lifetime experience and will instantly put you in the Christmas mood. Christmas at Castle Howard is ideal for groups: tours and talks are available and you can choose from a house preview tour, Grand tours and many more.

Newcastle International Christmas market
The International Christmas market will take place at Grey’s Monument, Grey Street and Grainger Street from the 16th of November to the 16th of December.
The Newcastle Christmas market gets bigger and better every year and this year the organisers have promised for something a bit more special. The market will have stalls from all over Europe, waffles from Holland, paella from Spain and desserts from France.
The market will also welcome local traders and once you have tasted all the delicious food, you can find handmade gifts for your loved ones.

Skipton Christmas market
Last but not least in our list of Christmas destinations to visit is Skipton Christmas market. The market is on from the 2nd of December to the 9th of December and is known as UK’s best large speciality market.
The market takes place in the high street with many local charity stalls, gift stalls and entertainment, making Skipton an ideal market to find a Christmas bargain and get in the Christmas spirit.
